Fukuoka Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located on Kyushu Island. The capital is the city of Fukuoka. Fukuoka Prefecture faces the sea on three sides, bordering on Saga, oita, and Kumamoto prefectures and facing Yamaguchi Prefecture across the Kanmon Straits.
