The room is a bit small. Not very suitable for family with children and a lot of luggages . If you take the bus to the airport must bring all your own luggages to the bus stop outside the hotel opposite the road by yourself. Hotel staff will not help you.

Staying at the hotel itself is very special. It is a historical building but very well maintained. The hotel has many famous guests in the past including the Japanese Royal families. There is a short cut down the stair via the car park to get to the to

restaurant is a differnt story though: stuffy waiters with poor English, favoring japanese guests, presenting every miso soup as if it was a miracle, stretching a simple breakfast to a one hour ordeal...

Superb in quality and style.

This hotel was once a palace. It now looks old and in need of some serious renovation. Considering the cost of the room is was quite disappointing, especially after our stays in some really nice hotels in other places in Japan. I do not recommend it
