The staff couldnt have been more helpful at the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel. They made our stay very pleasant and the room we chose was fantastic! Had a brilliant weekend and definitly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Edinburgh.

Staff is nice, sweet smile and explaining the attractive places and recommend where to go. Room is clean, good kitchen facilities where we can cook for our dinner. Room is warm with heater.

Hotel is very old, so is the room's deco, in the1970's era. I would rate this a 1-2 star hotel. Non-smoking room still smell of smoke. Wifi very bad, keep dropping off. Staff can't speak English. This hotel is only suitable for their local tou
