Weekend hen parties spoilt the ambience of one of the north of England's Arts and Crafts hotel gems. Disappointing given the historical importance of this listed building.

Bed size,clean,staff

The cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The floor felt grimy. There was a ball of hair on the floor that was there for the four days that I was there, which goes to show housekeeping clearly did not include sweeping, vacuuming or mopping. The

Hotel staff are very accommodating. Shopping and restaurants all stone throw away. We will definitely stay in this hotel again.
